JW Media Music Ltd currently have the following vacancy:

PROMOTIONS EXECUTIVE

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual providing support in the direct marketing and promotion of its music library catalogue to broadcasters, production and post-production companies, ad agencies and other users of production music.  As a key member of the team you will be confident enough for client contact by both telephone and in person and be willing and able to get involved in general office duties to support the day-to-day running of the office.  Ideally of graduate calibre, an interest in music publishing and broadcast is essential for this role although no previous experience is necessary.

  Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ability to work both on own initiative but also as part of a tight knit team.
  • Build and maintain contacts within broadcast, production and advertising including cold calls and face-to-face meetings.
  • Promotion and support of the ‘MyDrive’ and the website to both new and existing clients.
  • Music Searches - pitching for specific briefs, and supporting the department where required on general music research.
  • Regional trips and activities as and when directed for promotion of the catalogue, which may include overnight stays.
  • Client entertaining – representing JWMM at relevant professional events / conference / trade fairs (which may include evening promotional activities and events for the purposes of promotion of the catalogue to its clients).
  • Responsible for reading the various industry trade journals/websites and reporting on relevant or potential business leads at the weekly sales meeting.
  • New Releases – working with the team to provide ideas for new releases, cover art and descriptions/titles of new works.
  • Maintaining the client and other databases and analysing marketing data.
  • Maintaining weekly targets for contacting potential new clients and updating current contacts lists (ad agencies / music supervision companies etc) and providing regular written activity reports to the Head of Sales and Promotion.
  • Possessing the necessary IT skills required in order to be able to service our clients needs which will entail the ability to use various music and audio-related software, set up and maintain  FTP accounts,  and the prepare audio files in various formats as required.

We will ask you to share your ideas on the promotion and marketing of our music and to demonstrate your knowledge of the supply, usage and licensing of production music.

In addition we will ask you to demonstrate your skills in the interpretation of a music brief by selecting suitable tracks from our website.  The brief will be supplied when we contact you to arrange the interview.
